What GlobeNorm is — and what it is not.

GlobeNorm is an index and navigation layer for product standards and export compliance. It retrieves official metadata, exposes the version chain and points to the publisher. It is not a substitute for the normative text, a notified body or a laboratory report.

What is indexed

Standard identifier, title, level, mandatory or recommended status where published, lifecycle status, issue and effective dates, issuing body, replacement family, classification and official source link.

Where the data comes from

China records are assembled from public catalogues operated by the national standards authority, the national association-standards platform, food-safety and construction-standard publications, and other official sources. International sections preserve the publishers' original identifiers and titles.

How English is handled

Navigation, explanations and assistant guidance are in English. Chinese standards retain their official Chinese titles because an unofficial translation could change the legal meaning. Where an official English title exists in the source data, it is shown.

What is deliberately excluded

Normative text, paywalled standards, laboratory conclusions, certification decisions and legal advice. A retrieved standard is a starting point for verification, not proof of conformity.

Attribution

When reusing a record, retain the standard identifier, the official publisher and a link to the source page. Cite GlobeNorm only as the index used for discovery.

Traceability over certainty theatre.

If a field is absent or a market is not indexed, the product says so. A missing field is not converted into a confident guess.
