本规范适用于在生产、加工、处理、转运或贮存过程中出现或可能出现爆炸危险环境的新建、扩建和改建工程的爆炸危险区域划分及电力装置设计。 本规范不适用于下列环境： 1 矿井井下； 2 制造、使用或贮存火药、炸药和起爆药、引信及火工品生产等的环境； 3 利用电能进行生产并与生产工艺过程直接关联的电解、电镀等电力装置区域； 4 使用强氧化剂以及不用外来点火源就能自行起火的物质的环境； 5 水、陆、空交通运输工具及海上和陆地油井平台； 6 以加味天然气作燃料进行采暖、空调、烹饪、洗衣以及类似的管线系统； 7 医疗室内； 8 灾难性事故。
