本规范适用于设计基本地震加速度值小于或等于0.40g（即抗震设防烈度9度以下）地区，且电压为220KV及以下的工业企业电气设备（以下简称电气设备）的抗震设计。设计基本地震加速度值大于0.40g地区或行业有特殊要求的工业企业电气设备，其抗震设计应按国家有关专门规定执行。
